Words of Wisdom

January 29, 2018

Here’s a list of 5 books that have inspired me over the last year and that I would love to share with you as well.

Fail, Fail Again, Fail Better - Pema Chödrön

A beautiful speech on the art of making mistakes (printed as a book) and how we can learn to be more compassionate towards ourselves when we make a mistake (because inevitably we will make another one). This book is so simple and yet it has such a profound impact on the way we deal with mistakes - a process we often take for granted.

Get Out of Your Mind and Into Your Life - Steven Hayes

A practical guide to start working with ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy). This book will teach you the basic theory of ACT and help you step by step to discover the underlying and unconscious thoughts that influence your happiness and how to live in harmony with them. It is a great book for people who feel like they are anxious in any way or bothered by negative thoughts and want to experience more (joy) in life.

Becoming Supernatural - Dr. Joe Dispenza

Reading this book you will be blown away by all the possibilities the human mind and body has. Dr. Dispenza explains in a very clear way how neuroscience, biology, quantum physics and spirituality are connected and how we can expand the influence we have on our own well being. Through the book he teaches you different types of meditations that will help you to really experience the theory that he describes and allow you to feel the impact our own believes can have on our lives.

Siddhartha - Hermann Hesse

This fictional story is just so inspiring from the beginning until the end. In it’s own way it touches all the difficulties we face in our lives, whether we lived in the time of the Buddha or in 2018. It is a short story, but with such great depths that it deserves to be read with great care and attention.

Conversations with God: An Uncommon Dialogue - Neale Donald Walsch

Inspiring, jaw-dropping, clarifying and comforting. The book talks about the big questions in life, offering you answers and new ways to look at yourself and the world. I wouldn’t claim that this book has the one and only answers, but I would definitely invite you to read it and explore life on a deeper level.
